Can state government create new jobs?

The Hartford Courant has a thought-provoking poll question up for “Today’s Buzz”: Can state government create jobs?

With Gov. Dannel Malloy’s “economic summit” next week and work beginning on a legislative job package this month, it’s certainly a timely question. Jobs seem to be an important step toward a recovery and stability.

What do you think? Do you think this is where the legislature should focus its attention?
