Fix Our Future: A Few Events for You!

Posted on January 7, 2011. Filed under: Uncategorized |

We’re going full speed ahead on our advocacy mission, and educating our members is high up on our “to-do” list. We’ve got three free programs coming up in the next few weeks that will provide members with a really good view of where Connecticut is – and how to go up from here.

Register quickly – these events are filling up! Great to see.

  • Jan. 20: Fix Our Future (Norwalk)

This three-credit program is going to pack a powerful punch. We’ve got Marcia Marien presenting her view of where Connecticut currently stands, according to its financial statements. Jeff Thiebert of the Concord Coalition covers the federal situation. Former comptroller general and founder/CEO of Comeback America Initiative David Walker shares how we can come back from this. CSCPA’s Julie McNeal discusses her experience on Gov. Rell’s OPEB Commission.

How’s that for an action-packed morning?

  • Jan. 21: Fix Our Future and Economic Update (Rocky Hill)

In this special Friday Focus, Marcia Marien teams up with economist Donald Klepper-Smith to discuss the state of Connecticut and what economic factors are holding us back.

  • Jan. 26: Update on Probate Court Restructuring (Rocky Hill)

In this one-credit Trust, Estate, and Gift Taxation Committee meeting that’s open to all, Judge Paul Knierim discusses the watershed restructuring of the probate courts – and how it will affect the courts and its users.

Hope we’ll see you there!
